Al-Samman: Some Ramadanic traditions seize to exist

Poetry News Agency | Mohamed el-Sayed

Yemeni writer Suhair al-Samman said many traditions and customs in Ramadan vanished and have been extinct.
“Compare to earlier Ramadans, people are less excited,” She said.
The writer pointed out that Yemeni evenings for Yemeni female intellectuals usually focus on concerns and anticipations of writers and other issues and cases at the poetry scene.
Al-Samman called the Arab and Yemeni societies to really get the true concept of this holy month, which is feeling the hunger of the poor so that we could help them, unlike some people who think of the month as a food festival.
