Poetry News Agency | Nawaf al-Shamry

Poet Nayef Saqr has confirmed that the poetry evening he took part in at the Hala February Festival with poet Mosaaed al-Rashidi last week was exceptional.
“The audience was great and the media coverage was splendid,” he said in an interview with the Poetry News Agency. “I was so happy to take part at the same poetry evening with renowned poet Mosaaed al-Rashidi,” he added.
The poetry evening was a great opportunity for the two poets to respond to rumours about their disagreement, it confirmed that they have a strong friendship.
Saqr said that al-Rashidi is one of the noted poets who has a very distinctive poetry history and a wonderful style.
The poet has recently pointed out that he will not take part at joint poetry evenings, however, he decided to take part at the poetry evening due to the participation of al-Rashidi and the request by Nasser al-Sabeei.
Saqr also confirmed that he receives invitations to take part in poetry evenings but he chose what suited his time.
