The list of the Millionís Poetís rivals



Abu Dhabi, 11 December 2011 (Poetry News Agency) – The Poetry Academy, an affiliate of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), has announced the full names list of the rivals who are to take part in the fifth season of the prominent Million’s Poet contest.


The list contains 100 poets, in addition to the standby roster which contains 20 poets, out of thousands of poets who managed to apply for the prestigious contest which rapidly became every Arab poet’s dream according to the remarkable interest by international and Arabic media and audience.


The Million’s Poet and the Emirates satellite channels kept transmitting jury’s tours in Arab countries since last Tuesday, and will keep presenting the contest’s episodes live from el-Raha Beach, the episodes which are highly expected to witness epic poetic competition and the light will shed on many names.


On behalf of the intensive meetings held by the contest’s jury which contains Dr. Ghassan al-Hassan, Sultan al-Amimi, and Hamad al-Said, and the contest’s consultants Badr Safouq, and Turki al-Marikhi, the contest’s jury has finished sorting and isolating applications and has reliance the full list.


The list has been chosen according to precise poetry standards, taking into account the grades of the applicants who applied back at the Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Oman’s tours, so forasmuch the splendid participations of the current season, the jury decided to make a standby roster by 20 poets.


The Poetry Academy has announced that the staff has contacted all the 120 poets in order to get them to arrive to Abu Dhabi during the current week to be subjected to the tests, which will be completely different than the previous season’s.


The list contains poets from UAE, Kuwait, KSA, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen, Jordan, Sudan, Iraq, Palestine and Syria out of many Arab and foreign countries.
