Facebook page resurrects Al Zubairi

Poetry News Agency | Mohamed al-Sayed (http://www.alapn.com/ar/news.php?cat=5&id=27430)

The martyrdom remembrance of Renowned Yemeni poet and freedom fighter Mohamed Mahmoud Al Zubairi, also known as the father of freemen, was met but complete disregard by Yemeni official authors, the matter which made some Yemeni activists to launch a Facebook fan page dedicated to Al Zubairi.

The page, which carries Al Zubairi’s name, aimed, mainly, to share his poems, revolutionary speeches, articles, meetings and documentaries about him.

It also became an online judgement platform concerned with current Yemeni officials.

Activists demanded officials to commemorate the 48th remembrance of Al Zubairi’s death, but demands fall on deaf ears.

Worth mentioning that Al Zubairi was one of the Yemeni iconic revolutionaries who contributed in erupting the Yemeni revolution.

In the 1st of April, 1965, after the seminar which he called for to discuss the necessity of rewriting the Yemeni constitution, he got killed, calling unintentionally for a revolution against unjust and corruption.
